According to reports from The Sun, Arsenal are planning to raid Hull City for their talented winger Jarrod Bowen. The Gunners scouted him extensively last season and are finally ready to make a move for the 22-year-old.
Bowen netted 22 goals in the Championship last season, attracting Arsenal’s interest in the process. Unai Emery views him as an alternative for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha’s valuation of £80m has put the Gunners off from meeting the asking price for the attacker. The Englishman is out of reach given the fact that Emery has been given only £45m to spend this summer.
Bowen presents a good alternative given that he is valued at £15m by Hull City. The Championship club could also be convinced to sell their asset for £12m.
An Arsenal insider also told SunSport:
“Jarrod is a bright, young talent and would be great value for money.”
“The club had checked him out before but at the time were not interested in pursuing it.”
“However, his performances in the second half of last season made a real impression – and we believe he can develop into a top, top player.”
