Arsenal are closing in on their fourth summer signing with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers emerging as their next major transfer target, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal Ready to Seal Morgan Rogers Deal After Positive Personal Talks
The Gunners have already secured deals for Piero Hincapie and Illan Meslier, while Christos Tzolis is on the verge of completing his move to the Emirates after David Ornstein confirmed an agreement on Thursday.
Romano has revealed that Arsenal are prioritising Rogers over Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, with negotiations over personal terms now at an advanced stage.
“Discussions with the player are already at an advanced stage. There are no significant issues regarding the contract, and the personal terms are almost fully agreed,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel.
“Only a few details remain to be clarified before Arsenal are ready to move and begin club-to-club negotiations for Morgan Rogers.”
The Gunners have been active in the transfer market following their Premier League triumph and Champions League final defeat, with Mikel Arteta determined to strengthen further.
Villa Demand £130m for Star Man
Aston Villa are reportedly demanding as much as £130 million for Rogers, who has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents.
Arsenal remain undeterred by the hefty price tag as they look to add another dynamic presence to their frontline.
Romano also provided clarity on Arsenal’s interest in Barcola, dismissing recent speculation linking the French winger with a move to North London.
“At the moment, Arsenal are not negotiating for Bradley Barcola. There are no active talks,” he confirmed.
Beyond their attacking additions, Arsenal continue to pursue midfield reinforcements with Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes still on their radar.
The club are also monitoring William Saliba’s injury situation, which Romano described as “quite serious”, potentially influencing further defensive recruitment.
With Tzolis expected to finalise his move imminently, Arsenal are now turning their full attention to securing Rogers as their fourth major signing of what is shaping up to be a transformative summer window.
