Arsenal could part ways with fan favourite Leandro Trossard during the summer transfer window, with Newcastle United leading the chase for the Belgian’s signature.

Arteta ‘Open’ to Selling Trossard as Newcastle Prepare Bid

According to reports, the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for the 31-year-old and would value him in the region of £20m to £25m.

Mikel Arteta faces a tough decision, as Trossard has enjoyed a stellar individual campaign despite the potential exit.

The Spanish boss recently labelled the winger “exceptional” and praised his “level of consistency” back in January.

Trossard has started 18 Premier League games and four Champions League fixtures this term, often keeping Gabriel Martinelli out of the side.

He has contributed seven goals and eight assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

However, with his contract expiring in 2027 and Arsenal actively searching for a new left-winger this summer, the club may cash in while they can still command a decent fee.

Newcastle United sees Trossard as the perfect option to bolster Eddie Howe’s attacking unit. The Magpies want to add proven quality and depth on the left flank.

Their pursuit comes amid intense speculation surrounding Anthony Gordon’s future.

Intriguingly, Arsenal holds a strong interest in Gordon and views the 25-year-old Englishman as a prime target. Arteta is a long-term admirer of the Newcastle star.

The Magpies, however, have no desire to lose Gordon and have slapped a massive £95m price tag on his head to ward off suitors.

Trossard would provide an immediate solution for Newcastle if Gordon departs, or add competition if the Englishman stays.

Aston Villa also monitors the situation closely. Manager Unai Emery believes Trossard would fit his system perfectly. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad has also shown interest in securing the winger’s services.

Selling Trossard for £25m would represent smart business for Arsenal. The player turns 32 later this year, and reinvesting those funds into a younger, long-term option like Gordon makes sense.

If Arsenal secures the Premier League title this season, the decision to refresh the squad’s attacking options in the summer becomes even easier.
