Elye Wahi, a striker for Montpellier, could still be transferred this summer, and reports suggest that Arsenal and Newcastle United may still be interested

After tallying 32 goals in 91 appearances over the course of a relatively brief career, the 20-year-old appears to have a tremendous amount of talent. Interest in him is high this summer.

Wahi was mentioned as a potential transfer target for Chelsea earlier today in a report from L’Equipe, but new information from Foot Mercato indicates Arsenal and Newcastle are still interested in the young Frenchman.

After the underwhelming performances of recent additions like Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in that area, Chelsea need more firepower up front, and Wahi already appears to be able to provide it.

Additionally, Arsenal would be wise to add Wahi as a better option than either Eddie Nketiah or Folarin Balogun to cover for Gabriel Jesus the next season.

This promises to be an interesting transfer war as Newcastle, another fascinating prospect, may be Wahi’s best option if he wants to play regular first-team games right immediately.
