According to sources, Arsenal, along with AC Milan, are still “obviously” in the running for Marco Asensio. According to reports, the Gunners would have no trouble matching the player’s pay demands.
With his contract set to expire in 2023 and no agreement on an extension, Asensio appears to be considering his possibilities for a summer exit.
Sport Mediaset in Italy earlier stated that AC Milan, along with a handful of English teams, notably Arsenal, are serious in signing Asensio and have begun to make solid steps for the player.
Asensio hasn’t made a choice yet, and he won’t make one until the end of the season.
Real Madrid wants a response on his prospective contract extension before the conclusion of the season.
Real Madrid are hoping for €25-30 million for Asensio if he decides to go. Last summer, Arsenal was also connected with him.
The 26-year-old Spaniard is yet another left-footed right-sided attacker, fueling speculation that Nicolas Pepe’s long-term future may not be at Arsenal.
This season, Asensio has eleven goals in 37 games for Real Madrid.
