Arsenal are still interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz. The North London club boosted their midfield in the summer with the £105m signing of Declan Rice.
Now, the Gunners are planning to hit the January transfer window. They need one more quality midfielder and Douglas Luiz is now their priority.
A recent report added that Arsenal are open to allowing Jorginho and Thomas Partey to leave the Gunners.
As per the reports of 90min, the North London club are considering a number of targets. Aston Villa’s Luiz was also linked with a move to the Emirates in 2022.
The Premier League runner-ups made three bids for Luiz ahead of the 2022-23 season, but they were all rejected by Aston Villa. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar are monitoring the situation of the 25-year-old.
Luiz has scored six goals in 14 competitive appearances. Unai Emery’s side is still not interested in selling their best player. Fluminense midfielder Andre is also a priority for the Gunners.
