Arsenal are making ground on Shkodran Mustafi’s immediate departure from the club,x as per news originating from Turkey.
The German defender is no longer wanted at the Emirates for the performances he put up last season. His series of blunders played a huge part in the Gunners finishing outside of the Premier League top four.
Mustafi cost Arsenal £35m two seasons back but the North London outfit knows they cannot recuperate that value. They have priced him at £25m but even then clubs are unwilling to touch the centre-half.
Turkish publication, Aksam claims that Fenerbahce are interested in loaning him out from the Gunners. Officials from the Super Lig outfit are due to visit London this week to discuss terms with both the club and the player.
Unai Emery is desperate to raise funds for this transfer window as he is offered only £45m to make signings. Even if he fails to move Mustafi out of the club permanently, it would be a bonus to move him out of the wage books and probably find a buyer next season.
Arsenal are interested in signing Saint Etienne defender, William Saliba and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney. They have just seen a bid worth £22.5m get rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit.
