Arsenal Set To Lose Out On Yet Another Top Player

According to Italian news reports, Napoli have agreed a €40m transfer fee for Arsenal target, Hirving Lozano.

The PSV Eindhoven winger was being pursued by the Gunners for over a year. Arsene Wenger even had picked him out to be the immediate replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal never finalised a deal and now it seems like they are set to lose out on him to the Serie A outfit. The Mexican internationals reportedly will join Napoli on a five-year contract this very summer.

The report claims that Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Carlo Ancelotti and the player’s agent, Mino Raiola have held a meeting to negotiate terms of a potential transfer.

Arsenal have been scouting wingers of their own and supposedly were preparing a €30m fee for Lozano. Whether they will be able to better Napoli’s offer, the team they overcame in the Europa League quarterfinals just a couple of weeks back, is yet to be seen.

Lozano is a prime attacking threat in the Eredivisie. He scored 21 goals and collected 12 assists in 40 appearances for PSV this season.

The winger has gained a massive reputation after his performances for Mexico in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Gunners could have used his services from the wide areas especially with two elite strikers in the club’s starting lineup, in need of more offensive support.
