As they expedite their summer transfer plans, Arsenal is having internal talks on whether to activate Eberechi Eze’s £68 million release clause. Mick Brown, a former top scout for Man United and Blackburn who is still very well-connected in the league, stated exclusively to Football Insider that Crystal Palace will not budge from their asking price for the 27-year-old.
A decision must be taken before the England international’s release clause expires in mid-August, just before the new Premier League season begins. On June 30, Football Insider reported that Arsenal had contacted Eze’s representation to discuss a possible transfer and had asked about his availability.
They will evaluate potential transfer targets before deciding whether to exercise his generous release clause, though. On June 26, Brown told Football Insider that Oliver Glasner is determined to keep his top players at Palace; thus, Eze won’t move for less than £68 million.
Arsenal creating new payment plan in attempt to sign Eberechi Eze
Arteta quickly fell in love with Eze because of his versatility, which allowed him to play both midfield and on the left wing. But it didn’t take long for the Englishman to establish himself as the team’s left-winger, and the 27-year-old was among the finest players when he initially joined.
Due to Gabriel Martinelli’s lack of playing time after the Palace player was signed, Eze was included on the left flank of Arsenal’s starting lineup. Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka joined him in attack, yet the German only managed 12 goals in all competitions.
After spending more than ten years at Manchester United during their most successful time, the former scout has a wealth of experience in recruiting elite players. He has insisted that the Gunners will consider a variety of options before making a final decision.
