Arsenal have decided to offload striker Gabriel Jesus for a cut-price £5 million this summer, following their historic Premier League title triumph.

Gabriel Jesus Could Leave Arsenal for £5m in Wage-Dump Move

The Gunners secured their first league crown in 22 years on Tuesday night after Manchester City dropped points at Bournemouth.

Mikel Arteta’s side now turns its attention to squad reshaping, and Jesus leads the list of departures.

According to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, Arsenal would accept a nominal £5m fee to facilitate the Brazilian’s return to his homeland.

Several clubs have shown strong interest, with Palmeiras emerging as the likeliest destination.

The real motivation for Arsenal is not the transfer fee but the wage saving. Jesus earns £265,000 per week, making him one of the club’s highest-paid players.

Removing his salary from the books would free up significant funds for Arteta to reinvest in new attacking reinforcements.

The 29-year-old has struggled since returning from an ACL injury suffered in January 2025.

That setback wiped out most of last season, and this campaign he has managed only two Premier League goals in 13 appearances 11 of those as a substitute.

With Viktor Gyokeres now firmly ahead of him in the pecking order, Jesus finds himself on the periphery.

His contract has just one year remaining, so Arsenal see this summer as the last chance to recover any value.

A return to Brazil would give Jesus a fresh start after a frustrating period defined more by injuries than goals.

Delaney also names Gabriel Martinelli as a leading candidate to depart among Arsenal’s attacking options.

Both exits would create space financially and physically for Arteta to add the kind of quality needed to defend the title and compete in the Champions League final against PSG on May 30.

For Jesus, a move back to Palmeiras his boyhood club makes perfect sense for all parties.
