Raphael Veiga, an attacking midfielder for Palmeiras, has been linked to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal this time around in the transfer rumours mill. Both Premier League clubs are allegedly interested in the 27-year-old Brazilian as they aim to enhance their rosters for the next season.
According to Goal Brazil, Veiga’s representation have been contacted by Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, and Wolves in an effort to determine his status at the Brazilian club. However, no official bids have been made as of yet; teams are only gathering data and monitoring any potential changes.
Palmeiras’ best player, who has been with the team since 2017 and has a contract that expires in 2026, is not a guy they are actively trying to sell. Veiga has made over 200 games with Palmeiras and won multiple trophies, including two Copa Libertadores, two Campeonato Paulista championships, a Brasileiro Serie A, a Copa do Brasil, and two Super Cups.
Veiga has reportedly been under Wolves’ observation for some time, and manager Lopetegui allegedly spoke with the player’s support staff about what would be required to get him to England in the summer. According to reports, Wolves will soon consider making an official offer for the Brazilian.
Despite having contacted Veiga a few months ago, Arsenal is known to be interested in the player but has not yet made a formal offer. It is unclear where Veiga’s future lies, whether he will move to Europe or stay with Palmeiras, as both clubs are battling for the brilliant midfielder.
