Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal may wait until the end of the window to close a deal on a striker in an attempt to bolster their attacking unit. Arsenal is interested in adding a new striker to their roster this summer.

Arsenal has observed, evaluated, and maybe regarded Viktor Gyokeres as a possible striker in the future. There is no doubt that Arsenal fans would like to see an improvement in this position. Gyokeres’ over 50 goal contributions to Sporting CP during the previous season have garnered a lot of support for his profile.

Sporting CP demanding £86m for Viktor Gyokeres transfer

Since joining Sporting from Coventry City last summer, the Sweden international has been one of the team’s biggest additions of the season, netting 15 goals in 18 appearances across all competitions. Gyokeres’ contract contains a €100 million (£86 million) release clause, which Sporting CP will not embrace him leaving.

Unless there is a significant change in outgoings, it appears unlikely that Arsenal will be able to afford the cost of a center-forward. Any player can go if their release clause is fulfilled, according to Sporting Manager Ruben Amorim, so he is not concerned.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is not happy with his team’s play in the final third, which is why he wants to acquire a number nine who can score goals.
