“They’ve got themselves a player here,” Murphy said on BBC’s Match of the Day. “He’s got the lot really for a midfielder.
“He’s creative, he wants the ball all the time, which is what I want to see.
“His decision-making’s good, he didn’t have to too often today, because he was in possession so much, do the nastier side of the game if you like.
“We’ll see that maybe more as the season goes on if he’s capable.
“But he’s wanting the ball all the time and he started in a more forward, like a No10 role if you like. But he drifted back into the space which clever players do because Burnley condensed that space.
“He sat in that hole where the space was because he knew the No10 role was becoming difficult to get the ball in.
“He grew into the game in the second half, he started coming forward because they dominated the game a little bit more.
“Clever little passes, every single move they had actually came through him. He looks a real Arsenal-type player if you like.
“He can see a pass a bit like Fabregas, can sit in there and dictate play as well if need be.
“I like the variation in his game. He could be a really big player for them this season.”
