Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The Spaniard signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.
He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the club to the European elite while challenging for other major honours, after they finished sixth in the Premier League last season resulting in missing the Champions League this season.
However, the Gunners didn’t got off to a great start as they have begun life under the new manager with back-to-back defeats against their big rivals Chelsea and Manchester City. But won their next three fixtures against West Ham United, Cardiff City and Newcastle United.
The London Outfit won for the fourth match in a row against Ukrainian minnows Vorskla at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, with Pierre-Emerick, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck among the goalscorers.
Alex Iwobi, who was also impressive during the match insisted that the players are working a lot harder in training under Emery than Wenger.
“He’s a new manager, a new system,” Iwobi told ESPN after the match on Thursday.
“Like I said, we are buying in to new ideas so it will take a bit of time but we’re slowly getting there.
“Obviously we are winning games now, we just have to keep being consistent and keep on pushing.”
“But as you can see, we are buying into his ideas and we are enjoying our time with him.
“We are not going to dwell on the past, we are always looking forward to the next game.
“We learn from out mistakes, like we have done.
“We have got four wins on the bounce now so we have just got to keep on going keep this momentum going and try to get as many wins as we can, like I’m saying.”
