The Gunners have finished outside the top 4 on both the previous seasons
Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The Spaniard signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.
He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the club to the European elite while challenging for other major honours, after they finished sixth in the Premier League last season resulting in missing the Champions League this season.
However, the Gunners didn’t got off to a great start as they have begun life under the new manager with back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against their big rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.
But won their next two fixtures against West Ham United and Cardiff City. They will look to continue their momentum after the International break.
The London Outfit have finished outside the top 4 in both their previous seasons under Wenger and it has been suggested that they will struggle to finish in the top 4 this season too but could win the Europa League to get an automatic qualification.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, however, is determined to help Arsenal to return to the Champions League football.
“I’m doing my best every day, every hour and every minute to become even stronger,” he told Arsenal Player.
“I always had my dreams, I always had my ambitions and I always wanted to chase them. I wanted to fulfill them because it was very important to me and my family.
“I was working hard, I wasn’t taking a day off and I was always working hard on myself. Even if I was good at one thing, I was always trying to improve it even more. I think that’s it.
“It’s always nice to be a part of the history at this club because Arsenal is a big club and everyone knows that being in this club means a lot.
“As well for myself, I’m very happy that I could have Arsene Wenger as a manager and I’m very happy to have Unai Emery as well as manager.
“I appreciate people that want to try and help Arsenal achieve more because I know Arsenal is a team that has to be playing in the Champions League and is a team that has to fight for trophies in England. What we’re trying to do is to bring the Arsenal level back.”
