Arsenal are close to signing Bukayo Saka to a new deal but it still has not been finalized, according to David Ornstein.
One of the most reputable sources regarding Arsenal football club, the Athletic reporter always delivers new close to one hundred percent accuracy.
That being said, it is not a good sign that Saka is being allowed to play his deal down. He has emerged as one of the hottest young talents in England and his deal is about to run out in 12 months time. Rival outfits like Chelsea and Liverpool are already circling with convincing deals of their own.
Arsenal, fortunately, still hold a strong connection with the Academy graduate as they pain through the 2019/20 season. Saka was apparently about to put pen to paper right before the suspension of football. For some reason or the other, the deal did not go through and negotiations are back on the table.
Ornstein told the Athletic: “They nearly had an agreement before shutdown. So that came at a really bad time for Arsenal in that sense. It’s close but until pen hits paper you never know. The will of all sides is to extend. But the deal has to be right. There is plenty of interest in Saka from other clubs, too.”
Saka has been with Arsenal since he was only 7 years old. Currently, he is waiting out the Gunners to get the best deal for himself. He is clearly wanted by other outfits and it would be a tragedy to lose him.
