Arsenal has submitted a £105m bid to beat Man City for Declan Rice.

The Gunners have made a third and improved bid for the West Ham captain an initial fee of £100m and a further £5m in add-ons.

Rice is set to be the most expensive British player ever if the Hammers accept the current bid from Arsenal.

The Chelsea academy graduate has been Arsenal’s primary target this summer and are expected to win the race.

Champions Manchester City have offered £80m up front, plus £10m in add-ons for the England midfielder which is short of West Ham’s £100m valuation.

The midfielder captained the Hammers after winning the club’s first European trophy in 58 years.

He has played 50 games in all competitions last season as the East London club finished 14th in the Premier League.

Rice’s priority is to remain in London but with City’s entrance into the race has complicated the matter for the Englishman.
