Arsenal are happy with their current options in forward line.
Arsenal are busy in the summer transfer window and ahead of the deadline day, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta suggested that the North London club may not recruit a new striker this summer.
Arsenal confirmed two signings this summer. They offered David Raya a permanent contract after an impressive loan stint. They signed Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori.
Mikel Arteta also need couple of signings ahead of the deadline day. They need one midfielder and one striker to boost the squad. The Gunners focus on Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino but this deal is not happening.
They desperately need a striker amid the potential departure of Eddie Nketiah. They have picked few options such as Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson.
Now, Mikel Arteta hinted that Arsenal may not sign a new striker. He speaks after club’s impressive 2-0 win over Wolves in Premier League. He spoke to talkSPORT, “I have faith in Kai Havertz, we have faith in Gabriel Jesus. Leandro (Trossard) has played in that position.
“So we have different qualities in there and the best thing we can do is trust the players that we have and try to improve them. They are so good and so willing and that’s what we focus on.”
