Arsenal have received a huge boost in their reported pursuit of Palmeira teenager, Gabriel Veron.

The Brazilian outfit’s managing director, Cicero Souza admitted that they might be forced to sell Veron this summer.

“The fact is that there is no point in covering the sun with a sieve,” Souza said on Jorge Nicolo’s YouTube channel. “Perhaps there is a need for the sale (of Gabriel Veron). But who is going to buy? Is there going to be someone who buys? I think that the imminent need for a sale, whether it be Veron or any other player, can only be done according to an evaluation in a month and a half, two months from now, when we will be more certain of what is to come.”

Souza cleared it up that no formal offer has come in yet for the attacker but only inquiries. This definitely clears up all rumours of Everton placing a €15 million bid for Veron. There are definitely multiple clubs interested in him.

Souza added, “Officially, there are no proposals for him yet. There were polls, people asking for values, etc. But, at the moment, Palmeiras has no interest in getting rid of him.”

Veron is yet to start a game for Palmeiras and he is already a wanted man. His two goals and an assist in four appearances has shown a glimpse of what he is capable of doing in the opposition half. Arsenal seem to have found quick success with their last recruit from the South American nation – Gabriel Martinelli. With the help of Sporting Director, Edu they could be looking to pick up more future talents like Veron in the near future.
