Arsenal makes a £17m move for Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey.
The Gunners have made their first move to sign right-back Sacha Boey with an opening bid worth €20m.
The French defender has been impressive for the Turkish giants who are currently going through financial distress.
Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add some full-backs this summer as they struggled without Takehiro Tomiyasu for most of the season.
The Japanese full-back’s injury concerns have opened up the possibility of signing another right-back this summer.
Ben White was deployed as right-back from his usual centre-back position in this campaign.
Boey has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League after winning the Super Lig title with Galatasaray.
But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are yet to enter into formal discussions with Galatasaray.
He wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal have not made any proposal for Sacha Boey at this stage, despite reports. Been told there was no meeting with his new agents, just one of many players appreciated but not a negotiation as things stand.”
