Jeff Reine-Adelaide has left Angers in favor of a move to French giants Lyon and the north London side are set to feel the benefit.

Arsenal are set to bank around €5 million from the 21-year-old former player.

Lyon have agreed a deal in principle this week to sign attacking midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide from Ligue 1 rivals Angers. He may not be an Arsenal player any longer, but Reine-Adelaide looks set to hand the Gunners a surprise windfall.

He revealed his situation had become “very complicated” at Arsenal, prompting his move to Ligue 1 struggles Angers in July 2018, and now the 21-year-old is set for a return to the Champions League.

He never made a senior appearance for the Red and White, but upon leaving the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners inserted a 20% sell-on clause into the deal. The 21-year-old will undergo a medical before finalizing a move reportedly worth around €30 million, with Arsenal set to pocket around €5 million of those.

The Gunners had first refusal on the player, but just like with Islmael Bennacer, they are not interested in bringing the youngster back as well.

Reine-Adelaide made 35 top-flight appearances last season, scoring three times, and could make his Les Gones debut against his now former side Angers on Friday evening.
