Journalist Dean Jones says Arsenal will find it difficult to find another midfielder who can replicate what Thomas Partey does and we agree on it.
Arsenal recently invested in Italian star Jorginho. The former Chelsea man has made a positive impact at the Emirates, but Jones thinks Partey brings a type of dynamism to the pitch that is not easy to replace.
Partey is not part of the squad due to injury and missed his side’s last two games against Aston Villa and Manchester City.
“We have to assess him again today,” Mikel Arteta told the Evening Standard and other outlets before Arsenal’s win over Villa last weekend.
“He has some muscle discomfort and we have to see how he is.”
Jorginho started for the Gunners in their victory at Villa Park and played a huge role in their third goal, with it being his strike that led to Emiliano Martinez putting the ball into the back of his own net.
Jones has suggested that Partey is irreplaceable and while speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “With Partey, there’s that dynamism in the centre of the park that he now brings and that’s difficult to replicate because, at this stage of the season, he’s had that job all year and he’s made that job his own.
“He’s kind of invented the way that things work in there, so to bring in somebody else to copy that is difficult, especially now the transfer window’s shut.”
Jorginho is a very good player and he has obviously proven that by helping Chelsea and Italy to win the Champions League and Euro 2020 respectively.
