Arsenal are lacking quality in the middle of the park, which is where Tielemans could come into play.
According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Arsenal could make a late surge to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The North London club have been linked with the Belgium international throughout the summer and Jones reckons there’s a “strong possibility” the Gunners make one final push late in the window.
The Foxes star recently entered the final 12 months of his contract. His future has been a major topic since the market opened for business.
Arsenal have always been the frontrunners for his signature, although they’re still yet to meet Leicester’s £40m asking price for the midfielder.
Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Arsenal’s priority has been to get a few fringe players out of the squad to open up space and room on the wage bill and then I think they will try and sign another midfielder.
“I would be surprised if it was James Maddison, but there’s a strong possibility they might make a late push for Tielemans.”
Arteta addressed Arsenal’s need for a striker with the addition of Gabriel Jesus. They’re still lacking quality in the middle of the park, which is where Tielemans could come into play.
Tielemans possesses an abundance of ability in the central areas having scored 24 goals and laid on 24 assists during his time in English football.
