Arsenal’s head of football, Raul Sanllehi has set up a clever scheme to tempt Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette into signing new contracts with the club.
Earlier it was reported, on the final day of the transfer window that the Gunners strike duo had already signed new deals but that turned out to be untrue. Arsenal are prepared to offer them pay hikes.
Aubameyang and Lacazette have attracted some interest from other clubs but for the time being, they are set to stay at the Emirates. It would be a major boost if their futures are secure for longer.
Aubameyang is already one of the highest earners at £200,000-per-week with Lacazette following closely behind at £140,000-per-week. Arsenal are looking to offer them incentives based on Champions League qualification.
Of course, the North Londoners cannot offer them wages in parity to that of Mesut Ozil’s, who earns around £350,000 per week. However, the revenue brought in through the European competition would be enough for Arsenal to pay their top stars higher wages.
Aubameyang turned 30 this June and Lacazette is now 28. Both of them are at the peak of their careers and still have a few more years left to be in top form. This would be the perfect time to secure their services and in the process drive any possibilities of losing them.
