Charles Watts told Sports Mole that while it would be a reasonable sacrifice for Arsenal to let Leandro Trossard go, the Gunners should only think about moving the Belgian if they are certain that another player would join.

The North London powerhouses are anticipated to step up their attempts to entice fellow forward Eberechi Eze away from Crystal Palace now that they have officially finalized the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.

At the Emirates Stadium, where Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard have been fighting for minutes, the England international is anticipated to compete for the left-wing position. Trossard has had a strong start to the preseason.

Watts maintains his belief that the club has room for a creative genius, though, stating, “I think there’s space in the squad for it, especially in Eze because I just think he’s different from Ethan.” Eze is not obstructing Ethan’s route, in my opinion. There is a clear need for it because I observe both guys playing on opposing sides of the fields.

Trossard’s Arsenal exit is an acceptable sacrifice if Eze signs

The Belgium international is now in his 30s, so it was a little surprising when it was rumored a few months ago that he would be eligible for a long-term extension. However, Trossard has now reached the last 12 months of his deal with Arsenal.

But as far as fitness and offensive ability go, Trossard is completely dependable for Arsenal; he missed no Premier League games last season and had his most successful Premier League season to date, contributing 16 goals.

Although there has been less talk of Trossard signing a new contract in recent weeks, Arsenal might lose him in 2026 for nothing, and his previous suitors, Bayern Munich, have now agreed to a deal to sign Luis Diaz.

Watts would approve Trossard’s departure, though, provided Eze or another creative player was certain to show up. Noni Madueke is also anticipated to generate some playing time on the left side. It is currently believed that the rumors that Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and Trossard had reached a personal terms agreement earlier this summer were untrue.
