Attempts by Arsenal to sign Viktor Gyokeres before the transfer deadline appear to be moving along quickly. As their top target, Benjamin Sesko, chose to re-sign with Red Bull Leipzig just before Euro 2024, the Gunners were forced to make a change in plan, as it was always thought that they would purchase a new striker this summer.

Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are two of the elite forwards that Arsenal has since been linked to, and it now appears that the former will join the team before the end of the month.

According to a recent report by the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal is ‘very active’ in their pursuit of Gyokeres and are unlikely to make a move for Osimhen, who is still keen to leave Napoli this summer at this time.

Arsenal are very active in signing their final missing piece

Their transfer window is far from closed, as manager Mikel Arteta plans to acquire a striker in order to address the problems his team had last season. The Gunners are ‘very active’ in the race to recruit Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres, according to Corriere dello Sport, in an effort to challenge Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the league title once more.

In addition to sending Manchester City a message that the North Londoners mean business, Gyokeres might be the perfect addition for them. As a substitute for Victor Osimhen of Napoli, another attacker with whom they have been paired all summer, the Gunners have identified Gyokeres.
