Arsenal are believed to be tracking Porto midfielder Hector Herrera as they re on the lookout for a potential replacement of outgoing Aaron Ramsey.
A number of midfielders are reportedly on the list but Herrera tops the list. The combative midfielder’s contract is expiring at the end of the season and his denial to a new contract means the Gunners can snap up the player for free in the summer.
The versatile midfielder can cover up a number of positions and would give the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka a run for their own money. Ramsey has been linked with a move to Juventus and Emery would love to have a readymade replacement at his disposal.
A number of other clubs including AS Roma and Inter Milan are also monitoring his development so the North London giants need to move first if they are to bring in the Mexican international.
Herrera has been pretty consistent for the Portuguese club and losing him would be a big loss for the side. He arrived from Pachuca in 2013 and since then has gone onto establish himself as one of the prominent names at the club.
