Unai Emery has been appointed as the new manager of the Gunners and is charged with the task of returning the club to the European elite while challenging for major honours.

The Spaniard is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window in order to strengthen the squad for next season and has already completed the signing of Stephan Lichsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes the clubs need to make at least 3 more summer signings in order to return to the top 4 and be more competitive.

The ex-England international told Omnisport as quoted by Goal: “You’ve got to progress on the season before and we were out of the top four and we were getting left behind by quite a few of the big clubs.

“We need to regroup, have a little restructure of the team and then push on, get into the Champions League again and try and improve on that each season.

“It’s not going to be easy because the big guns are quite a way ahead at the moment. We need steel in the team.

“We need a couple of defenders, dominant defenders, and a dominant midfield player.

“I think the forward side of it, you can leave that alone because we’ve got a lot of firepower there. I’m just a little bit worried about the defence and the art of defending.”

The club have already been linked to host of midfielders and defenders, while they are also trying to tie Aaron Ramsey down to a new contract.

The Gunners to make a shock move for Premier League superstar.

The Belgian superstar has already rejected two contract offers to remain at Old Trafford.

The Prospect of Fellaini signing for the Gunners would have seemed unthinkable under former manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal’s way of football doesn’t suit his age and playing style, but under new manager Unai Emery things could be different.

The new Gunners boss had been keen to sign the Belgium international when he was Paris Saint Germain manager itself.

His representatives are due to meet with club officials this week.

The fact he is available on a free transfer is also attractive to Arsenal.

Since Emery will be given transfer budget of just £70m this summer after spending heavily in the last two transfer windows.

If Arsenal manage to pull off the deal for the Belgian superstar, things could get very interesting.

It remains to be seen whether the club will move make a move for Fellaini before the World Cup.

Arsenal make enquiry for Bundesliga star

Arsenal make enquiry to sign Bundesliga’s highly rated defender Benjamin Pavard.

The Gunners are now being linked with a move for French defender Benjamin Pavard.

English giants were recently linked with Caglar Soyuncu – who is very similar to Ben Pavard.

Benjamin Pavard joined the spotlight a few years ago and now he is currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga at Stuttgart.

The 22-year-old played every minute of Stuttgart’s league campaign last season.

After an injury to Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny, Pavard was named in an extremely strong French squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Pavard could just may well replace Koscielny at Arsenal as well. But the young centre back is highly rated across Europe and will reportedly cost in the same kind of region as Soyuncu, £30-40 million.

According to L’Equipe, the London club made an enquiry about landing Pavard earlier this year, with the club on the hunt for defensive reinforcements ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
