Arsenal have been linked with several replacements including Ronaldo.
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Arsenal are unlikely to sign Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo with the current free agent unlikely to fit into Mikel Arteta’s plans at the Emirates Stadium.
The forward currently finds himself without a club after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan led to the termination of his contract at Manchester United.
Journalist Mike McGrath said earlier this week that Arsenal and Gabriel Jesus has undergone surgery on a knee injury picked up on World Cup duty.
The North London club have been linked with several replacements, including Atlético Madrid’s João Félix who the north London side may consider, according to journalist Dean Jones who was speaking to GiveMeSport.
O’Rourke told GiveMeSport: “Ronaldo is a free transfer, but I know after leaving Manchester United, Piers Morgan will be happy if he moved to Arsenal but I don’t think he probably fits into Mikel Arteta’s plans right now.”
After a controversial few weeks which resulted in the termination of his contract at Manchester United, Ronaldo will have hoped to use the World Cup as a springboard to put last month’s events behind him.
