Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club after Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The Spaniard signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.
He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the club to the European elite while challenging for other major honours, after they finished sixth in the Premier League last season resulting in missing the Champions League this season.
However, the Gunners didn’t got off to a great start as they have begun life under the Spaniard with back-to-back defeats in the Premier League against their big rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.
But they got their first Premier League points this season as they defeated West Ham United 3-1 last weekend and will look to continue the momentum in their upcoming match.
Emery have stick with 4-2-3-1 approach so far this season with Pierre-Emerick Aubayemeng as the lone frontman. However, Alexandre Lacazette has shown promising signs so far and could be in contention for starting berth.
Jamie Redknapp has urged The London outfit to play Lacazette and Aubayemeng together in order to compete in the Premier League this season. He believes that it will make them more interesting.
“I do think a subtle change might help,” he told Sky Sports as quoted by Daily Star.
“And I think if they had done that against West Ham, again it’s not a system he wants to play, but Aubameyang and Lacazette look good together.
“The look like a really good pair, they look dangerous and they look like two players you wouldn’t want to play against.
“But, again, if he plays those two as a strike partnership, that means you’re going to lose a player in midfield and it does become very difficult.
“I do think playing those two at the moment would help them and make them a bit more exciting.”
