Unai Emery is keen to sign more players before the transfer window closes
The Gunners finished sixth in the Premier League last season and will miss the Champions League next season. The Spaniard has been charged with the task of returning the club to the European elite while challenging for major honours.
It has been a busy transfer for the Premier League giants, as the new boss has brought in new five players, reinforcing the particular areas which needed strengthening to compete for major silverware next season.
Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund and Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus.
Former PSG boss wants atleast two more signings before the transfer window closes and willing to sell players in order to raise funds. They are believed to be willing to listen to offers for the likes of Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez.
Despite signing Lichtsteiner and Sokratis, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes the club still need to improve their defense this summer. He has urged them to sign Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini ands feels he would be a dream signing.
“I think Arsenal still need to improve their defence, even after signing Sokratis and Lichtsteiner,” Parlour told bWIN.
“They left themselves open far too often last season and it was their away form that cost them. The club needs an old school leader who will put their body on the line and demand the best from his team-mates. [Giorgio] Chiellini would be the dream defender, though he’s getting on a bit.”
