Edu will look to make a couple of new signings for Arsenal when the window reopens.
During this World Cup break, Arsenal are looking to pick players for the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners want to bring a couple of new players to the Emirates in January, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.
The North London club are having a brilliant season, and Bridge says manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu will try to build on that by making a signing or two.
Before going into the World Cup break, the Gunners have taken 37 points from 14 games, putting them in first place ahead of champions Manchester City.
Arteta’s side has only lost once, really putting into perspective how good they have been in the current campaign.
Bridge has told GIVEMESPORT that Arteta and Edu will look to make a couple of new signings when the window reopens.
Speaking to GMS, the Sky Sports reporter said: “I don’t think Arsenal should have any concerns about anything at the moment. What I’m hearing from the club is that they’ll look to add one or two again in January.
“Edu and Arteta have got a fantastic partnership. They’ll work together and they’ll only sign the ones they want to sign.”
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk. As per The Athletic, Arsenal have been monitoring the 21-year-old winger but will have to pay €100m (around £86m) to land him.
Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is another player who is thought to be on Arsenal’s radar.
According to 90min, Arteta could make a January bid for the Belgian, who is out of contract next summer. Compared to Mudryk, he is obviously a much more attainable target for Arteta.
