According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal’s interest in the ‘exceptional’ former Manchester City star has not waned since they were first linked with him during the summer transfer window.

Sane, who is on a lucrative £330,000 per week, has yet to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, which is set to expire in June 2025.

The 28-year-old forward is said to be ‘keen’ on a move to North London next year, a development that has surely piqued the interest of Arsenal’s management.

This season has been a challenging one for Sane, as he has struggled to secure regular playing time under new Bayern manager Vincent Kompany.

He has managed just 104 minutes across five Bundesliga appearances, a stark contrast to his prominent role under former manager Thomas Tuchel last season.

Sane was instrumental for Bayern, making 42 appearances, scoring 10 goals, and providing 12 assists – second only to Harry Kane in terms of goal contributions for the team.

Despite the club’s efforts to negotiate a contract extension with Sane’s representatives, Bayern’s focus remains on integrating the forward back into Kompany’s squad.

However, Sane’s reduced role this season, coupled with the impressive form of Michael Olise and fierce competition from Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, has limited his opportunities on the field.

Arsenal’s need for a right-sided winger has grown more pressing due to recent injury issues and a dip in form.

Although the Gunners bolstered their squad with defensive and midfield reinforcements and secured Raheem Sterling on transfer deadline day, the quest for attacking options continues.

Sane’s situation presents an attractive proposition for Arsenal as they look to strengthen their squad in 2025.

The coming months will be crucial as Arsenal closely monitors Sane’s contract developments and Bayern’s willingness to negotiate.

With his skillset and Premier League experience, Sane could be the boost Arsenal needs to compete at the highest level
