Arsenal are losing patience with German attacker Kai Havertz.

The Gunners spent £65 million for the German international who became Mikel Arteta’s first summer signing for the 2023/24 season.

Before his arrival at the Emirates, Havertz’s spell at Chelsea was considered hit-and-miss, and he struggled to settle into the first team under several managers.

Many have raised eyebrows when the former Bayer Leverkusen attacker was signed by Mikel Arteta last summer.

His move to Arsenal has only yielded limited success as he has managed only five goals and one assist in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Mikel Arteta has tried to mould the German in a deeper midfield role since the departure of Granit Xhaka last summer.

Spanish publication Fichajes insists that Havertz has ‘exhausted the patience’ of both the manager and the club.

The Gunners have possibly ended up with a poor deal as the Germany utility man is currently Arsenal’s highest-paid player.

So, Arsenal are willing to cut their losses in the summer transfer window but they cannot hope to recoup anything near to the £65m they paid Chelsea.

Havertz is contracted with the North London club until the summer of 2026 and a significant loss is on the cards if the club sanctions a departure for the German.
