Arsenal is looking into a January move for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt in order to improve their attacking prowess. The German attacker, who can play on the left, center, and right flanks, has emerged as a top target for Mikel Arteta’s team, despite competition from Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Brandt, who is known for his adaptability and connection with Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, expressed regret for not joining Liverpool in 2017. Despite the miss, Jurgen Klopp remains interested in the dynamic forward, sparking a three-way bidding battle for his signature.
With Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus out due to injuries, Arsenal is looking to shore up their offensive options during the winter transfer window. Brandt’s ability to reach the back of the net, with four goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season, adds to his attraction as a prospective Arsenal signing.
However, pulling the 27-year-old away from Dortmund in the middle of the season will be difficult. The German club is unlikely to part ways with their best player without a strong offer, having extended his contract until June 2026 last summer.
Arsenal, long-time admirers of Brandt, are expected to revive their interest in order to reshape their squad for a Premier League title challenge.
