Arsenal have set their sights on Eintracht Frankfurt’s versatile left-back Nathaniel Brown, according to The Athletic.
Arsenal Chase Frankfurt’s 22-Year-Old Defender Brown
The 22-year-old German international is expected to leave the Bundesliga side this summer, with both Bayern Munich and the Gunners keen to secure his signature.
Frankfurt will demand around £52 million for the player, though strong performances at the upcoming World Cup could drive that price even higher.
Brown enjoyed a breakthrough season at Frankfurt, making 42 appearances across all competitions. He scored four goals and provided six assists while showcasing remarkable versatility.
The youngster played left-back 20 times, operated in left midfield on 16 occasions, and even featured as a left winger, right-back, and central midfielder when needed.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has heaped praise on the defender. “He is very fast, creative, and very composed on the ball,” Nagelsmann said earlier this season.
The national team boss added that Germany “expect a lot of him” and that “his time will come soon.”
Brown started both of Germany’s March friendlies against Ghana and Finland, suggesting he will play a key role at the World Cup.
For Arsenal, Brown offers exactly the kind of flexibility Mikel Arteta values. The Gunners recently paraded the Premier League trophy through North London following a successful season.
However, they fell short in the Champions League final, losing on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain.
As Arteta prepares to defend the league title in 2025-26, he wants to strengthen his squad to remain among Europe’s elite.
Brown has also previously attracted interest from Manchester United. If Arsenal make a firm move, they will face stiff competition from Bayern.
But the chance to join a thriving Arsenal project could prove decisive.
