The Gunners have already contacted the Turin side about their availability
Arsenal endured an underwhelming season as they failed to win any silverware in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign. They finished 6th in the Premier League, reached the Carabao Cup final and the Europa League semi-final.
Unai Emery has been appointed as the new manager of the Gunners and is expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window in order to strengthen the squad for next season.
One of the main priorities of them is to overhaul their defense in the summer transfer window. Laurent Koscielny is out for six months, Per Mertesacker has retired and Shkodran Mustafi has had a difficult season.
They have already completed the signing of Stephan Lichsteiner on a free transfer and the former Paris Saint-Germain manager is still ken to add more defensive reinforcements.
Arsenal have contacted Juventus about the availability of defenders Medhi Benatia and Daniele Rugani, according to Calciomercato .
Rugani made his debut for the club in 2015 and has impressed with the limited game-time he got. He is still trying to nail down a spot in the first team but has seen his playing time increase over the past year, making 26 appearances.
The Premier League giants have been a long time admirer of the 23 year old but it would be very tough for them to sign him as the Turin side considers him a key part of their future. His representative Davide Torchia also claimed that the club have no intention of selling him.
Benatia is more likely to leave the Serie A giants as he struggled for game time last season. His poor relation with Max Allegri could also be one of the reasons why he could decide to leave and according to reports the club is also willing to listen to offers from potential suitors.
