Arsenal weighing up to sign Brighton star striker Evan Ferguson in this transfer window

According to rumors, Brighton is prepared to allow Evan Ferguson to depart permanently during the January transfer window, which has given Arsenal a transfer boost. Ferguson has been linked to a move to the Emirates this month, as manager Mikel Arteta needs extra front-line depth following the losses of Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. Ferguson would provide Arsenal a reliable attacking option after they relied heavily on Kai Havertz to score goals, leaving them without a designated No. 9 to increase their chances of winning the championship.

Ferguson would be a permanent addition to Arteta’s roster, which currently includes goalie Neto and Raheem Sterling on loan. The maximum number of domestic loan players that Premier League clubs can have on their roster is two. This month, several teams have expressed interest in the 20-year-old, with West Ham reportedly leading the pack. The Athletic claims that because he hasn’t been playing much at the Amex, Bournemouth, Everton, and Marseille are also keeping an eye on him.

According to their statement, they have already turned down one bid and are preparing for additional interest.

Depending on Brighton’s assessment, Ferguson might be a far more cost-effective alternative for Arsenal. After only 14 appearances in the 2024–24 season, the player and his camp are apparently eager for him to receive more playing time somewhere.
