They are aiming for Arsenal and Bayern Munich. According to reports, Nico Williams has been approached by both parties, who are keen to make high-paying proposals. Williams has always been associated with the Gunners. However, it has been unclear if the Athletic Club winger will be available.

He reportedly has a release clause worth €63 million, or roughly £52.7 million, so activating it might not be a problem. There had been rumors recently, though, that his club would renew his contract.

In any case, a report from Sport states that since Williams has been approached by both Arsenal and Bayern Munich, actual moves have begun. In order to obtain him, both sides are believed to be willing to make large contracts and pay his release clause.

The two major teams, Athletic, his current club, and perhaps Barcelona, are the winger’s only options right now. The La Liga heavyweights are reportedly unable to sign Williams this summer, just as they were a year ago.

Arsenal thinks the deal may be sealed with a quick release clause trigger. The Gunners might try to work out a deal that satisfies Bilbao while staying within their budget. Despite Arsenal’s advantage in the race, Bayern Munich has not let up; Nico’s agents have met with Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, multiple times.

Arsenal wants to make a deal that will strengthen their team and give them more offensive firepower so they can contend for the top spot next season; therefore, they are closely monitoring Bayern’s countermoves. In addition to Bayern Munich, Barcelona is a rival of the Gunners, and Deco, their sporting director, has intensified their efforts to sign the Spanish winger.

Even though Arsenal is really interested in Williams, it may be challenging to sign him as the competition to sign him heats up. Williams’ attention might be drawn to Barcelona if they could give him the opportunity to play with members of the Spanish national team like Pedri and Lamine Yamal.
