Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia responds to Arsenal links this summer.

The teenage midfielder joined the Saints from Manchester City last summer in order to get more first-team opportunities.

The Belgian midfielder has made 20 appearances for Southampton this campaign and has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

If the Saints get relegated from the top flight, it is expected that the top clubs will be coming for Lavia this summer.

At 19 years, Lavia is very composed and has a maturity that belies his tender age.

He would definitely not be available cheaply even if the Saints get relegated to the Championship.

“I don’t read it (the rumours) because I just don’t think about it,” Lavia responds. “I just enjoy my football and focus on what we have to do as a club.

“Whatever is outside, it is not what I can control. So I don’t pay attention to that. Football, with how it goes, it goes so fast.

“One moment you can be in the headlines and the next, you’re not. So the only thing to do is just be neutral; don’t think about it and get your head down and work.”
