However, he is having none of it.
Arsenal rising-star Gabriel Martinelli has thrashed out rumours linking him with an exit from the Emirates. In late January, Real Madrid were said to be interested in his services. “Nothing has come to me [from Madrid],” he told Marca. “I am focused here doing my job at Arsenal, and my head is here.”
Named the Gunners’ January Player of the Month for his exceptional performances, the 18-year-old stated earlier that his future lies at Arsenal. “I intend to make my story with the Arsenal shirt. I want to repay everything the fans are doing for me and give a lot of joy with goals and titles.”
The Brazilian’s form this season impressed fans and experts, with his compatriot, former Barcelona star Ronaldinho, lavishing praise on the youngster. “We as Brazilians are very excited about him and his future,” the iconic forward said in January. “It is one thing to have the talent – but another at the age of 18 to have the confidence.”
Martinelli has so far scored 10 goals for Arsenal this season with 3 of them coming in the Premier League.
