So far, all attempts have failed in trying to find Mesut Ozil a new home but Arsenal are apparently not done trying.
Plenty of reports claimed just yesterday that the Gunners had settled on keeping the playmaker for one more season. However, now it is being said that a new plan has been hatched.
Ozil has been quite disappointing for Arsenal in recent times and his value has dropped to remarkable lengths through the course of only one season. Not to mention, he is not in Unai Emery’s plans at all and will still be banking a stupendous amount of money for the next two campaigns.
His presence at the Emirates is no longer deemed to be as rewarding as it maybe was a couple of seasons ago. Arsenal are desperate to ship him out but have not found any takers.
They shopped him out to Italian clubs like Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli during the January transfer window only to be met with rejections over his £27m asking price, over the top of his £350,000-per-week wages.
According to Calcio Mercato, the North London outfit’s new plan is to offer the 30-year-old to Turkish clubs in order to get him off the club’s wage books. Arsenal have decided to pay a part of his salary to convince a single club to buy him this summer.
