Arsenal's Recruitment Head Ready To Call It Quits

It should come as a shock to many of the Arsenal faithful that the club’s head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat is reportedly ready to leave the club.

The North London outfit has refused to comment on the issue but the German might very well be out of the side by the end of this week. The reason’s behind Mislintat’s rumoured exit are currently being speculated on.

One major reason which might have caused a dispute is the position of technical director which was refused to Mislintat. This understandably has set him off along with his suggestions for player recruitment being ignored.

Mislintat oversaw the last 8 transfers of Arsenal including the club record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £58m from Borussia Dortmund, a club he was previously employed by.

The 46-year-old came into the club when Ivan Gazidis was still chief of operations. Ever since the latter’s departure for AC Milan, Mislintat’s influence at Arsenal has reduced significantly.

Raul Sanllehi, who was appointed as head of football relations have been promoted to head of football. Vinai Venkatesham also switched from chief commercial officer to managing director while Mislintat was denied a chance to take on more responsibilities.

Unai Emery’s strong feelings behind signing Denis Suarez and Ever Banega has not sat well with Mislinat either who had his eyes set on several other players.
