According to latest reports, Arsenal had submitted a £35m bid for Borussia Dortmund winger, Christian Pulisic but were beaten by both Liverpool and Chelsea.
With the January transfer window rolling up, the 20-year-old might just be set to make his move to the Premier League but the question largely remains – where?
While some reports claim that Chelsea have agreed verbally to a £45m fee with the Bundesliga side, some claim that Pulisic has been wooed by the Premier League leaders themselves.
Despite being only 20, Pulisic is a bonafide star and the face of football in his home country. The winger not only brings with him remarkable footballing talent but also a wide mix of fans to market towards.
A report by ESPN have given Arsenal a fair shot at landing the USA international due to their American owner, Stan Kroenke. The 71-year-old businessman who also owns the Los Angeles Rams is reportedly drawn to the commercial value of Pulisic in America.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a winger and Pulisic could certainly relieve some of Unai Emery’s concerns regarding the position. With the January window, yet to open, Arsenal do have the chance to splash in a bigger bid to beat out local competition.
