Arsene Wenger has admitted to an age-old question from his time at Arsenal.

The French boss was in charge of North London for over two decades. Despite tasting some fine early success, the latter part of his spell became rather unsavory in terms of success despite Arsenal playing some neat football.

There were plenty of calls towards the end of his tenure of Wenger being removed from the club and today when asked, Wenger has revealed what he made of those pleas to replace him at Arsenal.

Wenger told The Times: “Listening to that question makes me think, ‘Yes.’

“Maybe I stayed too long… I don’t know. But I was committed like on the first day.

“I think I guided the club through the most difficult period in a very successful way. At some stage, people say you’re too old, but they don’t really look at what you do. I served the club as much as I could.”

It is a well-known fact that Arsenal has found it tough despite Wenger overstaying to move on from his legacy – he after all gave the club a new identity and the world a new brand of football over the years.
