Arteta’s side has one game in their hands to retain their top spot.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was happy with the efforts shown by his team despite a loss against Man City. Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss against the Sky Blues.
With the defeat at Emirates, Arsenal slipped to the second spot in the Premier League table.
He said: “You take away that you gave Manchester City three goals, but for the rest and I don’t know what else I can demand of the players to match that level.
“They are the best team in the world and we matched that level. But after, it’s just necessary to do certain things better to beat them.
“I have more belief because I see a team that has gone head-to-head with them.
“At the end, disappointment because we lost it – and I say ‘we’ because we lost it.
“It was an incredible battle between two teams and we just gave them the goals, absolutely gave them the goals and against this team, they’re going to destroy you.
“On the other hand, we had three big, big chances and we didn’t put them away. That was the difference.”
