Arteta: Gunners need to have a busy finish to the transfer window!

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Anfield last night.

And despite a valiant effort from the Gunners, the difference in individual quality was evident from both sides. Arteta seems to be doing all he can with the team but it is now clear that the Gunners need to bolster this squad.

Mikel Arteta fully expects a busy window ahead for the Gunners.

“We don’t have any news on new players and either with players that might leave the football club,” Arteta told a news conference.

“It’s a week to go, I think it’s going to be really busy for other clubs because not much business has been done.

“Let’s see what happens.”

Arteta added: “I think it will be busy for the Premier League. Busy for us, I don’t know how it is going to happen.”

Arteta perhaps was notably speaking of Houssem Aouar, the French international playing for Lyon. However, if the Ligue 1 club is to be believed, their offer stands far away from anything the French club can accept.

Lyon president Aulas said, “There was a timid offer. We felt like they didn’t consider the fact that this is a player in the French national team. So, it was an offer that did not even make us consider making a sale.”
