Arteta hails Xhaka's return from neverland at the Emirates

Granit Xhaka was all but out of Arsenal earlier this season.

The Swiss international had a torrid time after being chosen as the captain of the club and all but cut of all ties after one particular disappointing performance.

Xhaka was already being slated by the fans for his poor displays but to be booed upon substitution by his own fans saw the player throw away his short and egg on the crowd to jeer at him.

However, it seems all of the distant past now as despite being stripped of club captaincy, Xhaka has now made a comeback and is an integral part of the Arsenal team.

Our boss Arteta has hailed the character of the player.

Arteta said: “He is a really good example of this, but the players have to be willing and they have to have the personality and the work-rate he has.

“You need to have faith and courage to face the problem, to slowly start to knock down the wall and start to enjoy the profession in the way he deserves.

“We were just there to support him a little bit and to give him a little bit of advice. We were right behind him. The rest was up to him and he deserves credit for that.”
