Arteta Takes Matters Into His Hand To Make Aubameyang Stay

With Aubameyang’s contract ending at Arsenal next year, Arteta is worried whether he will extend his contract or not with the Gunners.

And so, now Arteta has decided to deal with this issue personally. By 2021 summer, Aubameyang’s contract expires and he will be eligible for a free transfer, which might be likely to happen.

So either Arsenal might be forced to sell him due to lack of funds or somehow convince him to stay back at Emirates Stadium, although that might be difficult. Why Aubameyang is likely is that Arsenal has seen a significant downfall over the past few years. Arsene Wenger had kept the club in a steady position, however, when Unai Emery took over manager, he single-handedly brought down all of Wenger’s efforts and reputation which he had built over the years.

Naturally, as one of the world’s best strikers currently, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will want to move to bigger clubs for a chance to play in the Champions League and win silverware. According to a report by the Telegraph, Arteta will try to convince Auba by saying that Arsenal will “once again finish in the top four and compete for trophies”. Whether Auba will buy that or not, is entirely up to his discretion. Arteta has shown a lot of promise for Arsenal since he joined, so next year might just be a turning point for the Gunners – and maybe that will make Aubameyang stay back.
