AS Monaco reportedly want to sign him as he struggles for playing time in England.
Mikel Arteta has chosen to go ahead with just Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in strike in the past few games. Lacazette has only managed substitute appearances despite games coming in thick and fast. He was on a decent scoring run prior to Aubameyang’s leave of absence as well.
The Frenchman is on an expiring contract and will have one more left come June. Arsenal are hesitant to offer him a new deal after handing Aubameyang a massive contract. They need to reshuffle their resources in strengthening other areas like the midfield and defence.
Arteta has revealed that he held personal talks with Lacazette. Since there has been no talks of an extension, Arsenal will likely want to move on from him after this season. He is 29 now and has never hit prolific scoring numbers in England. The Gunners could bring in younger talent in his place with the new structures Arteta have put in place.
With Gabriel Martinelli also emerging as the next attacking talent, Arsenal might not need to go out and look for a replacement either.
